I highly recommend romantic gowns, we are getting married at the end of february and I ordered my dress months ago, it is absolutely stunning and I paid only $399 for it. I live in ontario canada and my dress arrived 4 days after ordering. It is the jewellanne dress in red on their site. It came with a shawl, purse, etc. And is exactly like the picture. Around here a dress like this one would be over a thousand dollars at a bridal shop! They are helpful and easy to work with, just be sure of your measurements and good luck with your wedding. Romantic gowns all the way, btw lisa was the girl I dealt with online. :)

Yes I did buy my dress from www.romanticgowns.com and I could not have been happier and neither could my dad since he was paying for it. This dress was $2000 everywhere and I got it for $700. They delivered on time and it was perfect. I had heard of them on CNN and and went there to try it myself. OMG I loved it.

I found my dress on Romantic gowns for $500 cheaper than in the local bridal store. I took a chance and ordered it from Romantic gowns. My gown arrived in 5 days and it was very, very close to the $900 dress I tried on. I also got a purse that matched and a shawl. I would recommend this site to my friends.

We are making CD's of all the important music from the wedding and burning them (processional, ceremony, 1st dance, father/daughter, last dance, etc). Also we have Lightscribe that burns a picture onto the top of the CDs of our choice (our engagement picture) and bought the clear colored jewel cases and favor tags on ebay. If no Lightscribe you could print out the CD labels. Total so far for all the pieces to make 100 Cd's has been 65$..less than 1$ per person! Plus it's thoughtful and more personal than candy.

I went to a really nice wedding up at a winery once that was kind of "rustic-chique". The bride took strips of copper, about 6-8 inches long, molded them into a heart, and stamped our names on the top portion. They doubled as a seat place-card and a wedding favor.

I've also been to a wedding (in October, mind you) that had Christmas decorations as the favors. The bride hand-painted each of them and yours truly hand-caligraphied the bride and grooms name and wedding date to the back.

Burn Cd's of your reception music. Not the boring stuff like the chicken dance, but your first dance with your husband, and those kind of dances. Make labels and set them out for the guests at the tables. This can actually be very inexpensive. Another cool idea is to wrap hershey kisses and hugs in a cute fabric or netting and print out a lable that says "thanks for coming hugs and kisses from the bride and groom" but put your names in or another special message...

For my wedding I am planning to have a table set up with bowls of lollies (you can get them cheap at the supermarket) and little scoops for each bowl. Each guest will have a small box that they can go and fill up with a choice of lollies.

Everyone is right on - when talking about 'wedding themes'......if you have one, great, go for something theme related. If not, stick with colors of your wedding.....

Wedding favors can also be different than what most people think. My brother decided to not do wedding favors at the actual table settings, but instead, had a Groom's cake and had each guest get to take home a piece of Groom's cake in boxes that were the color theme of the wedding with the wedding date and their names on it. It was cool!

Also... if you are on a tight budget, sometimes wedding favors can get really expensive if they are personalized.... if you are creative and crafty, think about this....

Get plastic spoons at a party store (the color of your wedding theme).

Go buy Hershey's kisses (you can get them cheaper in bulk at a store like Costco, Smart & Final, etc.)

And get some netting at a fabric store with some ribbon that matches the color of the spoon.

Put the kisses on the spoon, cut out a small piece of netting to cover the spoon.

On your computer print out "A Spoonful of Kisses from the Mr. & Mrs." (repetitive on a sheet of paper).... and cut out this fortune message and paper hole punch it and tie it with the ribbon that ties the piece of netting over the spoonful holding the kisses.

It's cute, affordable and you can get your friends/family to help.
